The primary focus of the course is on the formulation of international business strategy, the creation and allocation of resources and capabilities needed for internationalization with a good balance between theory and practice as well as real-world case study analysis. The course:
Explores the pros and cons of economic theories, government policies, business strategies, organizational structures, with strong emphasis on strategy; Stresses the managerial implications of each topic on the actual practice of international business; Discusses the changing nature of the international environment and the resulting impact on an organization's international strategy. Various aspects of strategy are considered, including marketing, production, and financial strategy. The focus of discussion is at the company level and participants are encouraged to discuss their business issues and take advantage of this stimulating learning environment to enhance the successful formulation and implementation of their firm's international strategy.
